Responsibility
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality Western dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts, in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food items are prepared with attention to detail, consistency, and presentation to meet guest expectations.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols to comply with local and international regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to manage inventory, minimize waste, and optimize ingredient usage.
- Assist in menu development by contributing creative ideas for new dishes or seasonal specials.
- Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any issues to the kitchen manager for prompt resolution.
- Work efficiently during peak hours to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to uphold the establishmentâs culinary standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience as a Western Cook or similar role in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in hotels, resorts, or fine-dining restaurants.
- Proven expertise in preparing a wide range of Western dishes, including but not limited to grilled meats, seafood, pasta, sauces, and desserts.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with a valid food handling certificate (e.g., HACCP or equivalent).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and efficiency under pressure.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills to handle multiple orders simultaneously.
- Creativity and passion for culinary innovation, with a willingness to experiment with new flavors and techniques.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, French, or German) are a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the establishment.
