Responsibility
- Conduct thorough inspections of tires on trailer trucks, delivery vehicles, and other fleet assets to identify wear, damage, or potential issues.
- Perform routine tire maintenance, including rotation, balancing, alignment, and inflation to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn-out tires in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Monitor tire pressure and tread depth, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to diagnose and resolve tire-related mechanical issues affecting vehicle performance.
- Maintain accurate records of tire inspections, repairs, and replacements using digital or manual tracking systems.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Provide guidance and training to junior technicians or apprentices on best practices for tire maintenance and safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tire Technician, Tireman, or similar role in heavy vehicle or fleet maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of tire types, specifications, and maintenance procedures for trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles.
- Proficiency in using tire-changing equipment, balancing machines, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety guidelines, and vehicle specifications.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy tires, tools, and equipment in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify and address tire-related issues efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and report findings to supervisors.
- Certification or training in automotive or tire technology is a plus but not required.
