Responsibility
- Design and deliver engaging Mandarin language lessons for students of varying proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies that enhance language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Assess student progress through regular evaluations, feedback sessions, and tailored learning plans.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to create a cohesive and interdisciplinary learning experience.
- Incorporate cultural elements into lessons to provide students with a holistic understanding of Mandarin-speaking communities.
- Utilize digital tools and resources to enhance the learning experience, including online platforms and multimedia content.
- Participate in professional development workshops and training sessions to stay updated on best practices in language education.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin (both spoken and written).
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, Chinese Language, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Mandarin as a second language (TESOL/TEFL certification is a plus).
- Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and modern teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with digital teaching tools and platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, interactive whiteboards).
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness, with a passion for fostering cross-cultural understanding.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to evolving educational needs.
