Responsibility

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to Jungle’s standards and recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, food preparation, and station management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock rotation, and report any shortages or quality issues to the kitchen management team.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of dishes during peak hours.
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation in developing new menu items or specials under the guidance of the culinary team.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning.
  • Adhere to Jungle’s sustainability practices, including minimizing food waste and sourcing ingredients responsibly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of professional cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a CDP or similar role.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, knife skills, and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
  • Experience with Western, Asian, or fusion cuisine is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Certification in culinary arts or hospitality management is a plus but not required.
  • Passion for food, creativity, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
