Responsibility
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatments, including examinations, cleanings, fillings, and extractions, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, post-treatment care, and preventive dental practices to promote long-term health.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with clinic protocols.
- Prepare treatment rooms by setting up equipment, instruments, and supplies, and ensure a clean, organized, and sterile environment.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (if certified) and ensure high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies, place orders as needed, and monitor expiration dates to maintain a well-stocked clinic.
- Provide chairside support to dentists by handing instruments, operating suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures.
- Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and handle administrative tasks such as billing and insurance processing.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting; fresh graduates with strong internship experience may be considered.
- Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting from a recognized institution; additional certifications (e.g., radiology) are a plus.
- Proficient in dental terminology, infection control protocols, and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with dental software (e.g., practice management systems) and basic computer skills for record-keeping.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings, to accommodate patient needs.
- Fluency in English (additional proficiency in Indonesian or other languages is advantageous).
