Responsibility
- Prepare and cook Italian-inspired dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, food preparation, and plating.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist in stock ordering, and ensure proper storage of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop seasonal menu items and specials, incorporating local Balinese ingredients where applicable.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines and cost-effective practices to support the restaurant’s profitability.
- Handle guest feedback professionally and implement corrective actions to enhance the dining experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Demi Chef or similar role in a high-volume, fine-dining, or Italian cuisine restaurant.
- Proficient in preparing Italian dishes, including pasta, risotto, antipasti, and traditional sauces.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP), and kitchen best practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and tools.
- Creativity and passion for culinary innovation, with a willingness to experiment with flavors and techniques.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, Italian) are a plus.
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional training.
