Responsibility
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and specialty beverages, ensuring consistency and excellence in every cup.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment to the highest standards.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the café, including workstations, equipment, and customer areas, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Manage inventory of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies, and report stock levels to the management team.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, POS system operation, and end-of-day reporting.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth café operations, including supporting bar, kitchen, and front-of-house staff as needed.
- Stay updated on coffee trends, brewing techniques, and menu offerings to provide expert knowledge to customers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Barista in a café, specialty coffee shop, or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and latte art techniques.
- Familiarity with various coffee brewing methods, including pour-over, French press, and cold brew.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage with diverse customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, inventory management, and POS system operation.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to support colleagues across different roles.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, or other common tourist languages) are a plus.
