As an Environmental Management Specialist, you will work closely with local government units and community stakeholders to address pressing environmental challenges. Responsibility
- Monitor and evaluate compliance with local and national environmental laws and ordinances.
- Conduct field inspections, site assessments, and environmental impact audits within the city jurisdiction.
- Assist in the development and implementation of solid waste management and pollution control programs.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and documentation on environmental projects and issues.
- Coordinate with community leaders and stakeholders to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
- Facilitate the processing of environmental clearances and permits in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Support the planning and execution of city-wide conservation and reforestation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Forestry, or a closely related field.
- Relevant eligibility (Career Service Professional or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Philippine environmental laws, including the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act and the Clean Air/Water Acts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in basic data management and technical report writing.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments, often involving travel within Northern Mindanao.
- Strong commitment to public service and environmental advocacy.
