In this critical role, you will be the cornerstone of our safety culture. You will be responsible for spearheading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, ensuring full compliance with local regulatory requirements, specifically DOSH and DOE standards. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between complex engineering processes and rigorous safety protocols, fostering a 'Safety First' mindset across all plant operations.

You will play a pivotal role in risk mitigation, incident investigation, and environmental sustainability initiatives. If you are a Green Book holder with a deep understanding of chemical engineering hazards and a track record of driving zero-harm environments, we want to hear from you.

Responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with DOSH, DOE, and other relevant government authorities for all safety and environmental permit applications and inspections.
  • Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Lead and facilitate safety training programs and induction sessions for employees and contractors to foster a robust safety culture.
  • Oversee emergency response planning, including fire drills, spill containment protocols, and medical emergency preparedness.
  • Analyze safety metrics and lead incident investigation processes to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure the site maintains compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field.
  • Must possess a valid DOSH Green Book (Registered Safety & Health Officer).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an EHS capacity within a chemical or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian OSH Act 1994, FMA 1967, and Environmental Quality Act 1974.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
