Responsibility
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the engineering roadmap, aligning technical initiatives with business goals to drive growth and scalability.
- Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Technical Oversight: Ensure architectural best practices, code quality, and system reliability across all products and platforms.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and business teams to deliver seamless, user-centric solutions.
- Process Optimization: Streamline development workflows, implement Agile/DevOps methodologies, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Innovation & R&D: Drive research and adoption of emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
- Budget & Resource Management: Oversee engineering budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation to maximize ROI.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to industry standards, data privacy regulations, and cybersecurity best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a Director-level or senior leadership role in a fast-paced tech environment.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of full-stack development, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern tech stacks (e.g., React, Node.js, Python, Kubernetes).
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to inspire, manage, and scale engineering teams in a multicultural, remote-friendly setting.
- Strategic Mindset: Strong business acumen with experience translating technical strategies into measurable outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical and data-driven approach to resolving complex technical and operational challenges.
- Communication: Fluent English proficiency with excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Education: Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with IoT, AI/ML, or consumer electronics is a plus, given Smooreâs focus on innovative tech solutions.
