Responsibility
- Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of engine room spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Coordinate with the Chief Engineer to ensure timely procurement and restocking of critical supplies.
- Conduct regular audits of engine store stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages.
- Organize and label all stored items for easy identification and retrieval during operations or emergencies.
- Assist in the issuance of materials and tools to engineering crew members, documenting all transactions.
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and company policies regarding storage and handling of materials.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free engine store environment.
- Support the engineering team during maintenance, repairs, and inspections by providing necessary parts and equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Storekeeper, preferably in a maritime or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with marine engine parts, tools, and inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and parts catalogs.
- Basic computer literacy (e.g., inventory software, Excel) for tracking and reporting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineering and procurement teams.
- Knowledge of maritime safety standards (e.g., SOLAS, ISM Code) is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25 kg) as required.
