Responsibility
- Lead and supervise a team of electrical technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of workmanship and safety.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including motors, transformers, switchgear, and control panels in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues, diagnose faults, and implement corrective actions to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and safety teams to optimize electrical systems for efficiency, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local regulations, company policies, and international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, IEC, or equivalent).
- Manage electrical projects, including upgrades, expansions, and new installations, from planning to execution, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to electrical system performance, energy consumption, and maintenance costs.
- Promote a culture of safety by conducting regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and training sessions for the electrical team.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnology, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance or supervision, preferably in manufacturing, wood processing, or heavy industry.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and mentor a team of electrical technicians.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards (e.g., OSHA, IEC, or local regulations) and best practices in industrial environments.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise with cross-functional teams and report to senior management.
- Certification in electrical safety or industrial automation (e.g., CompEx, NEBOSH) is a plus.
