Responsibility
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including wiring, motors, control panels, and distribution boards to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and instrumentation faults in industrial and commercial settings, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity.
- Calibrate, test, and maintain instrumentation devices such as sensors, transmitters, controllers, and analyzers to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Install, commission, and configure new electrical and instrumentation equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems, in accordance with project specifications and industry best practices.
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments on electrical and instrumentation systems, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to support the planning and execution of maintenance schedules, upgrades, and system expansions.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and calibrations in detailed reports, ensuring accurate records for compliance and future reference.
- Provide technical support and training to junior staff or operators on the proper use and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems.
Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician or in a similar role, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or commercial environments.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low and medium voltage distribution, motor controls, PLCs, and industrial automation.
- Experience with instrumentation devices such as pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, level sensors, and control valves.
- Familiarity with calibration tools and software (e.g., Fluke, HART communicators, or similar) and the ability to perform precise calibrations.
- Competency in using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers) for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications in electrical safety (e.g., CompEx, OSHA, or local equivalents) or instrumentation calibration are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to document work clearly and concisely.
