Responsibility
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on data center infrastructure, including HVAC, UPS, generators, and electrical distribution systems.
- Monitor and respond to alarms, incidents, and environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity) to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and decommissioning of servers, racks, and networking equipment in compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to power, cooling, and connectivity, escalating complex problems to senior engineers as needed.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on critical systems to minimize risks and extend equipment lifespan.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work orders, incident reports, and asset inventories using CMMS or similar tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, security, vendors) to support data center expansions, upgrades, or relocations.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and emergency response procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ years of experience in data center operations, facilities maintenance, or a similar technical role (entry-level candidates with relevant certifications or internships will be considered).
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems (e.g., 3-phase power, UPS, PDUs), cooling systems (e.g., CRAC/CRAH units), and fire suppression systems.
- Familiarity with data center standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier classifications, ASHRAE guidelines) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, test equipment (e.g., multimeters, thermal cameras), and CMMS software.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) to document work and collaborate with global teams.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
