Responsibility
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings for switchboards, control gears, and distribution panels using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret technical specifications and convert them into accurate, manufacturable designs.
- Ensure all designs comply with Australian standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3439) and international regulations (IEC, UL).
- Perform design reviews and revisions based on feedback from clients, engineers, and quality assurance teams.
- Maintain organized documentation and version control for all project files, including BOMs (Bill of Materials) and technical manuals.
- Assist in cost estimation and material selection for switchboard components to optimize project budgets.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electrical design and drafting.
- Provide technical support to production teams during fabrication and assembly phases.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Draftsperson, with a focus on switchboards, control panels, or industrial electrical systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of electrical symbols, standards, and drafting conventions (AS/NZS, IEC, NEMA).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and single-line diagrams.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills to ensure accuracy in complex designs.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with global teams.
- Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment is advantageous.
