Responsibility
- Strategic Logistics Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive distribution strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, demand forecasting, and stock replenishment to ensure seamless material availability.
- Vendor & Carrier Relations: Negotiate contracts with transportation providers, warehouses, and third-party logistics partners to secure competitive rates and service levels.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all logistics operations adhere to local and international regulations, as well as Holcim’s safety and environmental standards.
- Performance Metrics: Monitor KPIs such as delivery times, cost per shipment, and order accuracy, implementing data-driven improvements where necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to align logistics operations with business objectives.
- Technology Integration: Leverage logistics software and ERP systems to streamline processes, enhance visibility, and drive automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree: In Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is a plus.
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years in logistics or distribution management, preferably in the manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of warehouse management, transportation logistics, and inventory control best practices.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and performance metrics to drive decision-making.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), logistics software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address logistics challenges proactively.
