Responsibility
- Operate and maintain digital cinema projection systems, including 2K/4K projectors, servers, and automation software to ensure seamless movie playback.
- Conduct pre-show equipment checks, including sound systems, screens, and lighting, to guarantee optimal performance for every screening.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with audio-visual equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted showings.
- Coordinate with film distributors to receive, verify, and ingest digital cinema packages (DCPs) while adhering to security and licensing protocols.
- Monitor and adjust sound levels, color calibration, and 3D synchronization to meet industry standards and enhance viewer experience.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of theater equipment, including lenses, filters, and ventilation systems.
- Assist in training theater staff on basic equipment operation and emergency procedures.
- Document technical incidents, maintenance activities, and inventory of spare parts for reporting and auditing purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a cinema projectionist, AV technician, or in a similar technical role within the entertainment industry.
- Strong knowledge of digital cinema projection systems (e.g., Dolby, Barco, Christie, Sony) and DCP workflows.
- Familiarity with audio processing equipment (e.g., Dolby CP850, QSC) and THX/Dolby Atmos calibration standards.
- Technical certification in cinema operations (e.g., Dolby Certified, ISDCF) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
- Basic understanding of networking and IT systems as they relate to cinema servers and content delivery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support theater schedules.
