As the Deputy CIO, you will collaborate closely with the CIO and senior leadership to align IT strategy with NTUâs mission of academic excellence and global impact. Responsibility
- Strategic IT Leadership: Develop and execute a multi-year IT roadmap aligned with NTUâs academic and operational goals, ensuring scalability, security, and innovation.
- Digital Transformation: Spearhead the adoption of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), AI/ML integrations, and automation to enhance research, teaching, and administrative efficiency.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Oversee enterprise-wide cybersecurity policies, risk assessments, and compliance with global standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with faculty, departments, and external vendors to deliver IT solutions that meet evolving academic and research needs.
- Budget & Resource Optimization: Manage IT budgets, vendor contracts, and procurement to maximize ROI while ensuring cost-effective, sustainable technology investments.
- Data Governance: Implement robust data management frameworks to ensure integrity, accessibility, and ethical use of institutional data.
- Innovation Advocacy: Identify and pilot emerging technologies (e.g., blockchain, IoT, quantum computing) to maintain NTUâs position as a global leader in higher education.
Qualifications
- Education: Masterâs or PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. MBA or executive leadership certification is a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years in IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years as a Director of IT, CIO, or Deputy CIO in a large organization (preferably higher education or R&D).
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of enterprise systems (ERP, CRM), cloud architectures, cybersecurity, and IT governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with academic IT environments, research computing, or EdTech solutions is highly desirable.
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, PMP, or TOGAF certifications are advantageous.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Language: Fluency in English; proficiency in Indonesian or Mandarin is a bonus.
