Responsibility
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to the café's menu and standards.
- Ensure all food items are prepared and presented in a timely manner, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock of ingredients and supplies.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events and catering services.
- Maintain accurate records of food costs and waste to support budget management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Demi Chef or similar role in a café, restaurant, or hotel.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods.
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Creative mindset with a passion for developing new and innovative dishes.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Certification in culinary arts or related field is a plus.
