Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data privacy policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in data handling processes and recommend corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for data privacy inquiries, including requests from patients, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the training and awareness programs to educate staff on data privacy best practices and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and investigate potential data breaches, ensuring timely reporting and mitigation in accordance with legal obligations.
- Collaborate with IT and legal teams to integrate privacy-by-design principles into new systems and processes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving data protection laws and industry trends to ensure continuous compliance.
- Prepare and submit required documentation and reports to regulatory authorities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or a related role, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- In-depth understanding of data protection regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, and local data privacy laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver training programs on data privacy and compliance.
