Responsibility
- Monitor and maintain data centre infrastructure, including servers, cooling systems, power supplies, and network connectivity.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and environmental issues in real-time to maintain 99.9% uptime.
- Manage and document all operational activities, including incident reports, maintenance logs, and system performance metrics.
- Coordinate with IT and engineering teams to implement upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, TIA-942) and company policies for security and operational efficiency.
- Respond to emergency alerts and escalate critical issues to senior staff or vendors as needed.
- Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation to support business growth and scalability.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in data centre operations, IT infrastructure, or network administration.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, cooling systems, UPS, and backup generators.
- Familiarity with data centre management tools (e.g., DCIM, Nagios, PRTG) and monitoring systems.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, or ITIL are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal) for technical reporting and team collaboration.
- Willingness to work in shift patterns, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
