Responsibility
- Operate and maintain sophisticated HVAC systems and mechanical infrastructure in Google's data centers.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability.
- Monitor and analyze system performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement upgrades and enhancements to mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations in all maintenance activities.
- Document maintenance activities, system performance, and incidents accurately for reporting and analysis.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical mechanical systems.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems in a data center or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and air handling units.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and control systems for mechanical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Certification in HVAC or related mechanical fields is a plus.
- Willingness to work in a shift-based environment and participate in on-call duties.
