Responsibility
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems within the data center, ensuring 24/7 uptime and reliability.
- Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical infrastructure, including HVAC, power distribution, UPS, generators, and cooling systems.
- Monitor and optimize energy efficiency, reducing operational costs while maintaining compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute facility upgrades, expansions, or emergency repairs with minimal disruption to services.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for facility management, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contracting, performance evaluation, and coordination of third-party maintenance services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, incident reports, and compliance records for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Certifications in data center operations (e.g., CDCP, CDCS) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center facilities management, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, power distribution, UPS, generators, fire suppression, and cooling technologies.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions under pressure.
- Strong understanding of industry standards (e.g., TIA-942, ISO 27001, Uptime Institute Tier Standards).
- Excellent project management skills, with experience in planning and executing facility upgrades or expansions.
- Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
