Join ByteDance as a Data Center Design Manager in our Data Center Development team, now expanding operations to Bali, Indonesia. This is a unique opportunity to lead the design and deployment of next-generation data centers in the Asia Pacific region, supporting ByteDance’s rapid growth and global infrastructure needs.

Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end design of data centers, including electrical, mechanical, and structural systems, ensuring alignment with ByteDance’s scalability and efficiency standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, construction, procurement) to develop and execute data center projects from concept to completion.
- Optimize energy efficiency, cooling systems, and power distribution to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
- Conduct site selection and feasibility studies for new data center locations in the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on Bali and surrounding areas.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Implement modular and scalable designs to support ByteDance’s rapid growth and evolving technological needs.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, LEED, TIA-942) and local regulatory requirements.
- Drive innovation in data center design, incorporating AI, automation, and sustainable practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in data center design, construction, or operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale data center projects (5MW+ capacity) from design to deployment.
- Deep expertise in critical infrastructure systems, including power distribution, cooling (air/liquid), fire suppression, and security.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling), AutoCAD, and other design tools.
- Strong project management skills (PMP or equivalent certification is a plus).
- Experience working in Asia Pacific markets, with knowledge of local regulations and vendor landscapes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to align global and regional teams.
