Responsibility

  • Manage end-to-end customs clearance processes for industrial equipment imports, ensuring compliance with Indonesian and international trade laws.
  • Prepare and submit accurate customs documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and import permits.
  • Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) codes and determine applicable duties, taxes, and trade preferences.
  • Liaise with customs officials, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to resolve clearance issues and expedite shipments.
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements to ensure ongoing compliance and cost optimization.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all import transactions, duties paid, and compliance documentation for audits and reporting.
  • Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to forecast import costs and provide strategic recommendations for duty savings.
  • Represent the company in customs audits, investigations, or disputes, providing expert guidance and resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field. A Customs Broker license is a must.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Customs Broker, preferably in industrial equipment, manufacturing, or heavy machinery imports.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indonesian customs regulations, HS code classification, and Incoterms 2020.
  • Proven ability to navigate customs software, ERP systems, and digital trade platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex trade laws and resolve clearance bottlenecks.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English (written and verbal) to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in documentation and financial calculations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to evolving trade policies.
