As a Customs Assistant, you will support the vetting, compiling, and administration of customs documentation while adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and special instructions for specific shipments. Responsibility
- Process and verify customs documentation in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Vet and compile customs-related paperwork for import/export shipments.
- Ensure compliance with local and international customs laws and trade regulations.
- Follow special instructions for high-priority or sensitive shipments.
- Coordinate with internal teams, customs brokers, and government agencies to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records and databases of customs transactions and clearances.
- Assist in preparing reports on customs activities, delays, and resolutions.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in customs administration, logistics, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, tariffs, and trade compliance.
- Proficiency in using customs software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal); knowledge of Indonesian is a plus.
- Familiarity with Incoterms and international shipping documentation.
