Responsibility
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
- Decontaminate, clean, and prepare medical instruments and equipment for sterilization.
- Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure adherence to protocols and regulations.
- Inspect and package sterilized instruments for distribution to medical units.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments.
- Follow infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
- Participate in training and continuous education to stay updated on best practices in sterilization.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) or related field.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in sterilization or infection control.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment, and infection control standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
