Join DayOne Data Center as a Shift Technician for Critical Infrastructure Operations in our state-of-the-art hyperscale facility. In this mission-critical role, you’ll monitor, maintain, and optimize our power distribution, cooling systems, UPS, generators, and HVAC infrastructure to ensure 99.99% uptime for global enterprise clients.
This is a 24/7 shift-based position in a dynamic, high-security environment where precision and proactive problem-solving are paramount. You’ll work alongside a team of experts using cutting-edge DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools to preemptively address potential issues before they impact operations. Responsibility
- Monitor and control critical power systems (UPS, PDUs, switchgear, generators) to ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers).
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on data center infrastructure according to OEM and internal SOPs.
- Respond to alarm notifications and troubleshoot issues in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Document all maintenance activities, incidents, and resolutions in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Assist in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades to support hyperscale growth.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, electrical safety) and compliance standards (ISO, TIA-942).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during emergency response and disaster recovery scenarios.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or industrial maintenance.
- Hands-on knowledge of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and HVAC (preferably in a mission-critical environment).
- Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) and DCIM tools (e.g., Schneider EcoStruxure, Vertiv Trellis).
- Certifications in electrical safety (NFPA 70E), HVAC, or data center operations are a plus.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (day/night) including weekends and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail under pressure.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) for technical documentation and team communication.
