Responsibility
- Develop and execute high-quality pastry and dessert menus that align with seasonal themes and guest preferences.
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts with precision and consistency.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients while maintaining cost control and minimizing waste.
- Ensure all products meet food safety, hygiene, and presentation standards in compliance with resort policies.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create cohesive dining experiences for special events and à la carte service.
- Train and mentor junior pastry staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Innovate new recipes and techniques to enhance menu offerings and stay ahead of culinary trends.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry kitchen, adhering to HACCP and sanitation guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume or luxury hospitality setting.
- Formal training in pastry arts, culinary arts, or a related field (certification or degree preferred).
- Proven ability to manage a pastry kitchen, including production planning, staff supervision, and budgeting.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient pairings, and dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegan).
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple orders under pressure.
- Familiarity with food cost control and inventory management systems.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is a plus.
