Mynews is seeking a highly skilled Counter Equipment Technician (Coffee Specialist) to join our operations team in Petaling Jaya. In this role, you will be the backbone of our coffee service excellence, ensuring that our high-end coffee machines are functioning at peak performance to deliver a premium experience to our customers every day.
As a Coffee Specialist, you won't just be fixing machines; you will be an ambassador for quality. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining equipment reliability, training store staff on best practices, and ensuring that every cup served meets our brand standards. Responsibility
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on various coffee brewing equipment and espresso machines.
- Troubleshoot technical faults, electrical issues, and plumbing-related errors to minimize equipment downtime.
- Conduct equipment installation and calibration to ensure optimal extraction quality and drink consistency.
- Provide comprehensive hands-on training to store staff regarding daily cleaning, equipment handling, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
- Collaborate with store operations teams to identify recurring equipment issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Ensure all equipment complies with safety standards and hygiene regulations for food and beverage operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in technical maintenance, preferably with coffee machines or similar kitchen/vending equipment.
- Technical certification or diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field is highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical store staff.
- Ability to travel between store locations within the Petaling Jaya/Selangor area as required.
- Basic understanding of water filtration systems and boiler pressure components.
- Possess a valid driver's license and own transport.
