Responsibility
- Evaluate and tabulate commercial bids submitted by contractors and sub-contractors to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
- Draft detailed project recommendations, including cost-benefit analyses and financial feasibility reports for senior management review.
- Monitor project expenditures, track budget variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain financial alignment with project goals.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, historical cost records, and benchmarking data to support future project estimations.
- Conduct risk assessments related to project costs and propose mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure.
- Prepare periodic cost reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting key financial insights and recommendations.
- Stay updated with industry trends, market fluctuations, and regulatory changes affecting project costs and procurement strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost engineering, quantity surveying, or financial analysis within the construction or real estate sector.
- Proficient in cost estimation software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, or similar tools) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and contracts.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of local and international construction standards, procurement processes, and contract law.
- Certification such as CCE (Certified Cost Engineer) or MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is a plus.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
