Responsibility
- Prepare and cook a variety of Asian dishes, specializing in wok and grill techniques, while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Assist the restaurant manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to ensure adherence to recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Monitor food costs and minimize waste by efficiently managing ingredients and supplies.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in developing new menu items and seasonal specials based on customer feedback and trends.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook in a high-volume restaurant, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
- Strong expertise in wok cooking, grilling, and Asian cuisine preparation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and reporting.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, Mandarin) are a plus.
