As the Construction Legal Counsel, you will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to navigate complex legal landscapes, resolve disputes efficiently, and safeguard the company’s interests. This is a full-time opportunity based in Bali, Indonesia, offering a competitive salary range of $9,500 – $12,000 per month, commensurate with experience. Responsibility

  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements to ensure legal accuracy and risk mitigation.
  • Provide expert legal advice on construction laws, regulations, and compliance requirements in Indonesia.
  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with construction projects and develop strategies to minimize exposure.
  • Resolve contract disputes, claims, and litigation through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and timelines.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in local and international construction laws and advise on their implications.
  • Conduct due diligence on contractors, suppliers, and partners to ensure alignment with legal and ethical standards.
  • Prepare and maintain legal documentation, including permits, licenses, and compliance reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; a Master’s degree (LLM) in Construction Law or related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Counsel in the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Proven expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indonesian construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Experience working with international clients or multilateral projects is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
