The City Government of Cabanatuan is seeking a diligent and tech-savvy Computer Maintenance Technologist I to join our growing team in the Ilocos Region. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the digital infrastructure that supports local government operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive troubleshooter who is passionate about hardware integrity, system reliability, and providing exceptional technical support to internal departments.
As a Computer Maintenance Technologist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of office equipment, including preventive maintenance, rapid deployment of software solutions, and system upgrades. You will contribute to the efficiency of our public services by ensuring that every workstation and server remains operational, secure, and up-to-date with current government technological standards.
Responsibility
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on desktop computers, printers, scanners, and peripheral hardware.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues reported by end-users in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, office productivity suites, and government-mandated software.
- Manage inventory of IT assets, ensuring accurate logging of equipment status and replacement parts.
- Coordinate with software vendors and external providers for specialized system repairs.
- Set up workstations for new personnel, including configuration of network settings and security protocols.
- Assist in the implementation of data backup procedures to ensure the continuity of local government records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant Civil Service Eligibility is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and basic network diagnostics.
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux operating systems and common office software applications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to maintaining high standards of data security.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced government environment.
