Responsibility

  • Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and quality in every dish.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workspace in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients, and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine menu items, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients.
  • Prepare mise en place (prep work) for service, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
  • Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure quality and freshness of supplies.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and HACCP guidelines to uphold the highest standards of food handling.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a fine dining or luxury hospitality setting.
  • Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institution (e.g., hospitality school) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy items (up to 20-25 kg).
  • Familiarity with international cuisines and willingness to learn new culinary trends.
