Responsibility
- Prepare and plate high-quality dishes for room service orders according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Assist in mise en place preparation, including chopping, marinating, and organizing ingredients for efficient service.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment for in-room dining.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the sous chef or kitchen manager.
- Adhere to The Ritz-Carlton’s Gold Standards of service, ensuring every interaction and dish reflects the brand’s commitment to excellence.
- Follow portion control and waste management protocols to optimize cost efficiency.
- Participate in daily pre-service briefings and contribute ideas for menu improvements or special requests.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine-dining establishment.
- Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institution is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Familiarity with international cuisines and dietary restrictions (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free, halal).
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, Mandarin) are advantageous.
