Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of ingredients for all menu items, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, plating, and garnishing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation in compliance with food safety standards (HACCP).
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure cost efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop seasonal or special event menus.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations in the kitchen.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, checking for quality and freshness.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1â2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
- Formal culinary training (certificate/diploma) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking techniques (e.g., sautĂŠing, roasting, baking).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a positive attitude.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills in English (additional languages are a bonus).
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg.
- Familiarity with international cuisines and willingness to learn new culinary trends.
