Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, ingredient prep, and station setup.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workspace in compliance with food safety and HACCP standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to execute special events, banquets, and à la carte service efficiently.
- Follow portion control and waste management protocols to optimize cost efficiency.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations as per local and international standards.
- Participate in training sessions and contribute ideas for menu innovation and improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a hotel, resort, or fine-dining restaurant.
- Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institution (advantageous but not mandatory).
- Strong knife skills and fundamental knowledge of cooking techniques (e.g., sautéing, roasting, baking).
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with a positive and team-oriented attitude.
- Excellent physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 20 kg).
- Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergen awareness.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) is preferred; knowledge of Indonesian is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
