Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes according to standardized recipes and special dietary requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, ingredient prep, and plating.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and enhance existing recipes.
- Follow all kitchen policies, procedures, and HACCP guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, checking quality and quantity of ingredients.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
- Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institution is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to learn and take direction.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy kitchen equipment (up to 20 kg).
- Familiarity with international cuisines and local Balinese ingredients is advantageous.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a benefit.
