Responsibility
- Assist senior chefs in food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and marinating ingredients.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency in dish quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to strict hygiene and food safety standards.
- Support the mise en place process by setting up workstations with necessary tools and ingredients.
- Assist in plating dishes and ensuring timely delivery to the dining area.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and specials.
- Uphold the restaurant’s reputation by delivering exceptional food and service.
Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen (internships included).
- Strong knife skills and basic knowledge of cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Familiarity with HACCP and food safety regulations.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
