Responsibility

  • Assist the head chef in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes according to standardized recipes.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared fresh, presented beautifully, and served on time.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to avoid shortages.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop seasonal menus and incorporate local Balinese ingredients.
  • Follow portion control and waste reduction guidelines to optimize costs.
  • Participate in daily pre-service briefings and contribute ideas for service improvements.
  • Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and plating with precision and care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role in a fine dining or upscale restaurant.
  • Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institution is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Familiarity with Balinese or Southeast Asian cuisine is an advantage.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy kitchen equipment.
