Responsibility
- Assist the head chef in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes according to standardized recipes.
- Ensure all food items are prepared fresh, presented beautifully, and served on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to avoid shortages.
- Collaborate with the team to develop seasonal menus and incorporate local Balinese ingredients.
- Follow portion control and waste reduction guidelines to optimize costs.
- Participate in daily pre-service briefings and contribute ideas for service improvements.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and plating with precision and care.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role in a fine dining or upscale restaurant.
- Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institution is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Familiarity with Balinese or Southeast Asian cuisine is an advantage.
- Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy kitchen equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
