As a Commis Chef, you will work under the guidance of experienced chefs, learning the fundamentals of professional kitchen operations, food preparation, and plating techniques. Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of ingredients according to standardized recipes and portion controls.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, food storage, and inventory management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workspace in compliance with food safety and HACCP standards.
- Follow instructions precisely to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality across all dishes.
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and storing deliveries to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, ovens, and grills.
- Collaborate with the team to meet daily production targets and deadlines for multiple outlets.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of international cuisines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen or culinary school graduate (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift up to 20 kg.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) is a plus.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Passion for culinary arts and a desire to build a career in hospitality.
