Responsibility
- Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL programs for mainframe applications.
- Analyze and resolve production issues in a timely manner to ensure system stability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate legacy systems with modern APIs and microservices.
- Optimize existing COBOL code for performance and scalability.
- Document technical specifications and system processes for knowledge sharing.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding best practices.
- Support disaster recovery and backup procedures for mainframe environments.
- Stay updated with industry trends and recommend improvements to legacy systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in COBOL programming.
- Proficiency in mainframe technologies (CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM).
- Experience with debugging and performance tuning in mainframe environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a mid-shift schedule (e.g., 12 PM - 9 PM).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a hybrid team.
- Familiarity with Agile/DevOps practices is a plus.
