Responsibility
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform dimensional inspections of precision components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Develop and optimize CMM inspection programs to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections to verify product quality.
- Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Document inspection results and generate detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in metrology and precision measurement technologies.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a CMM Specialist or in a similar metrology role, preferably in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating and programming CMM machines, with knowledge of software such as PC-DMIS or Calypso.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to document inspection findings clearly.
- Certification in metrology or quality assurance is a plus.
