Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a team of CDI specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure accurate and compliant clinical documentation through regular audits and reviews.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and coding teams to clarify and improve documentation.
- Develop and implement CDI programs and initiatives to enhance documentation quality.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to documentation accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to keep staff updated on best practices.
- Act as a liaison between clinical and administrative teams to resolve documentation discrepancies.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure team adherence to compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI).
- Proven leadership experience in managing a team of CDI professionals.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Certification in CDI (e.g., CCDS, CDIP) is highly preferred.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive process improvements.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
