Arup, a global leader in engineering and design consultancy, is seeking a Civil & Structural Inspector of Works (C&S IoW) to join our dynamic team in Bali, Indonesia. Responsibility
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Verify the quality of materials and workmanship, documenting any deviations and recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines.
- Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports, including photographs, measurements, and compliance status updates.
- Ensure all structural works (e.g., foundations, beams, columns) meet design codes and regulatory requirements (e.g., SNI, ACI, Eurocodes).
- Assist in risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Collaborate with the project management team to review method statements and shop drawings for constructability.
- Uphold Arupâs sustainability and safety standards in all on-site activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision, with at least 2 years as an Inspector of Works for C&S projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of international construction standards (e.g., ASTM, BS, ISO) and local Indonesian regulations.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills in English (written and verbal).
- Familiarity with construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in field conditions and travel to project sites across Bali.
- Certifications in OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) or similar are highly advantageous.
