As an Assistant Department Head, you will play a critical role in supporting the Department Head in overseeing daily operations, policy implementation, and departmental strategy. You will act as a bridge between management and staff, ensuring that city services are delivered efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with Civil Service Commission guidelines. Responsibility
- Assist the Department Head in the planning, coordination, and supervision of departmental programs and projects.
- Ensure compliance with all local government codes, ordinances, and national civil service regulations.
- Monitor departmental performance metrics and prepare comprehensive reports for executive review.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between inter-departmental units and external stakeholders.
- Manage personnel workflows, including coaching staff, resolving administrative issues, and fostering a productive work culture.
- Oversee the preparation and monitoring of the departmental budget to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Represent the department in official meetings, conferences, and community engagements as delegated by the Head.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Management, Law, or a relevant social science discipline.
- Career Service Professional Eligibility (Second Level) or equivalent Civil Service eligibility.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in government administration or project management.
- In-depth knowledge of Philippine local government laws and administrative procedures.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Filipino.
- Proficiency in office productivity software and digital governance tools.
