Responsibility
- Assume command of the vessel in the absence of the Master, ensuring the safety and security of the crew, cargo, and vessel.
- Oversee all cargo operations, including loading, unloading, and stowage, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage and supervise the deck department, including training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure the vessel's compliance with international maritime laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of cargo operations, safety drills, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with port authorities, agents, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth port operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and drills to ensure the vessel's readiness for emergencies.
- Assist the Master in navigating the vessel and ensuring safe passage through various waterways.
Qualifications
- Valid Chief Officer (COC) certificate for Chemical Tankers.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chief Officer or similar role on chemical tankers.
- Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISM Code.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse crew.
- Proven experience in cargo operations, including handling hazardous materials.
- Familiarity with modern navigation and communication equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions in emergency situations.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
