Responsibility
- Oversee and manage all cargo operations, including loading, discharging, and tank cleaning, ensuring compliance with international safety and environmental standards.
- Assist the Master in navigation, voyage planning, and ensuring the vessel's safe and efficient operation.
- Supervise and mentor junior officers and crew members, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular safety drills, inspections, and risk assessments to maintain a secure working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISM Code.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports related to cargo operations, navigation, and safety incidents.
- Coordinate with port authorities, agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth port operations.
- Act as the vessel's safety officer, promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Chief Officer (C/O) Certificate of Competency (COC) for oil tankers.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Chief Officer or Senior Officer on oil tankers.
- Extensive knowledge of crude oil cargo operations, including handling, storage, and safety protocols.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop crew members.
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISM Code.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Proficient in the use of modern navigation and cargo management systems.
- Willingness to work on a rotational contract basis, with flexibility for global travel.
