Responsibility
- Lead and supervise the engineering team to ensure all hotel systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety, operate at peak efficiency.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Oversee capital expenditure projects, including renovations, upgrades, and new installations, while adhering to budget constraints.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including housekeeping, food & beverage, and front office, to address maintenance requests promptly.
- Monitor energy consumption and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify potential issues and proactively resolve them.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for outsourced engineering services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in hotel engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a luxury hospitality setting.
- Proven expertise in managing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems in large-scale properties.
- Strong knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and energy-efficient technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA, local building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in project management, budgeting, and vendor negotiations.
- Certifications in safety management, LEED, or similar are highly advantageous.
